CEFTIVED

Product Description

CEFTIVED is a broad-spectrum, third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic formulated with Ceftiofur Sodium, supplied as a sterile powder for reconstitution with Water for Injection (WFI). It is bactericidal, acting by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, and is active against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including beta-lactamase-producing strains. CEFTIVED is administered by intramuscular injection in cattle, buffalo, sheep, and goats, and by subcutaneous injection in day-old chicks for the control of early E. coli-associated mortality.

Description

Indications — When to Administer CEFTIVED:

  • Bacterial respiratory disease in cattle, buffalo, sheep, and goats (intramuscular route).
  • Acute interdigital necrobacillosis (foot rot) and acute metritis in cattle.
  • Control of early E. coli-associated mortality in day-old chicks (subcutaneous route).
  • Confirmed or suspected infection with a ceftiofur-sensitive organism, as directed by a veterinarian.
