Product Description

AMOXIVED is a combination injectable antibiotic formulated with Amoxicillin Sodium, a broad-spectrum penicillin, and Sulbactam Sodium, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Sulbactam protects amoxicillin from being broken down by bacterial beta-lactamase enzymes, restoring and extending its activity against beta-lactamase-producing bacteria that would otherwise be resistant to amoxicillin alone. AMOXIVED is supplied as a sterile powder for reconstitution with Water for Injection (WFI) and is used to treat a range of bacterial infections in livestock and swine, including respiratory, gastrointestinal, and urogenital infections, as well as conditions such as arthritis and secondary wound infections.

Description

Indications — When to Administer AMOXIVED:

  • Gastrointestinal, respiratory, or urogenital infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
  • Arthritis in swine caused by susceptible organisms such as Streptococcus suis.
  • Secondary bacterial infections following wounds, ear-biting, or tail-biting injuries in swine.
  • Confirmed or suspected infection with a beta-lactamase-producing organism, as directed by a veterinarian.
