VED AMPRO

Product Description

Ved Ampro is a clinically proven antiprotozoal solution combining Amprolium and Vitamin K3 for the effective treatment and prevention of coccidiosis across a broad spectrum of animals including calves, goats, sheep, broilers, breeders, and swine. Amprolium, a structural analogue of thiamine (Vitamin B1), works through competitive inhibition of thiamine uptake by coccidial parasites — selectively starving the protozoa of an essential nutrient required for their survival and replication, without compromising host animal health. With targeted activity against Eimeria spp., particularly the highly pathogenic Eimeria tenella and Eimeria necatrix, Ved Ampro provides reliable, fast-acting protection against one of the most economically damaging parasitic diseases in livestock and poultry production.

Key Benefits

  • Effectively treats and prevents coccidiosis in calves, goats, sheep, broilers, breeders, and other animals, with proven activity against Eimeria spp.
  • Delivers targeted action against the most pathogenic strains — Eimeria tenella and Eimeria necatrix — minimizing intestinal damage and associated mortality.
  • Amprolium acts as a thiamine (Vitamin B1) analogue, selectively inhibiting thiamine uptake in coccidia and disrupting their metabolic function without harming the host.
  • Vitamin K3 inclusion supports recovery from intestinal bleeding and haemorrhage commonly associated with severe coccidial infections.

Description

Indications — When to Administer Ved Ampro

  • Bloody or mucoid diarrhoea, particularly in young calves, lambs, kids, or broiler chicks, indicating active coccidial infection.
  • Sudden increase in mortality, listlessness, or huddling behaviour in young animals housed in high-density or unsanitary conditions.
  • Confirmed or suspected outbreak of coccidiosis within a herd or flock, requiring immediate therapeutic intervention.
  • Preventive administration during high-risk periods such as weaning, housing transitions, or introduction of new animals to an existing group.
  • Environments with a known history of Eimeria contamination where prophylactic treatment is essential to protect susceptible young stock.
